Alder Commons is a community-based organization, which is why a community of interested stakeholders is coming together to get it started! We will be much more successful if we involve a large group of interested individuals from the start, as every person brings with them a fresh perspective, a different set of experiences, and a unique set of ideas.
Our Organizing Team is made up of community members who are excited to help get Alder Commons off the ground. Volunteer organizers typically work as part of a committee (or committees) that helps make decisions with input from the greater Alder Commons Community. There will also soon be lots of opportunities to help out with a low level of commitment at upcoming space-building work parties.
Our current list of volunteers consists of youth, artists, parents, educators, academics, and community activists. Please fill out our Get Involved Form (especially the last section) if you’re interested in volunteering!
As we gear up to open our doors in Spring 2020, we’re looking to transition our Board of Directors from a small “Founding” Board into a “Working” Board that will be bigger, and more representative of the Northeast Portland community.
Our future location is situated at the intersection of Cully, Concordia, and Beaumont-Wilshire neighborhoods. People who live in these neighborhoods, or identify as minorities, are especially encouraged to get involved!
If you, or anyone you know, might be interested in joining the Alder Commons Board of Directors, please email us at email@example.com.
