Join us in person to support the Black Lives Matter racial justice movement. This month we celebrate Charles Hannah and Michelle Lewis of Third Eye Bag, a 100% Black-owned and operated bookstore based in Portland. Operating online-only since COVID-19, this event will give them a chance to sell books which they see “as a tool to motivate, inspire, restore or enhance a person’s cultural pride and to bring forth happiness and healing.” Browse works by Black writers, poets, Anti-Racist resources, etc. at this parking lot pop-up!
We’ll also have Black Lives Matter sign-making stations with full supplies, and a letterpress to pull your own print with Daniela del Mar of letra chueca press.
Please commit to this personal pledge if you are interested in joining: “I am committed to continuing the work of fighting for racial justice beyond the boundaries of this event.”
This event is hosted by Alder Commons in partnership with Hacienda CDC.
